Family owned & operated, Dom Chiola started the business in 1970. His son Tino Chiola is at the helm today. Dom Chiola Landscaping started with local residential and commercial projects as well as projects in Governor’s Island, Northport VA Hospital in Long Island, and Westpoint Military Academy. We have continued to provide a variety of landscaping services to these areas for over 20 years.

Meet our Landscape Designer
L. Byron Gwinn is a horticulturist, landscape designer, and ISA Certified Arborist with more than ten years of experience creating resilient, plant-forward landscapes. With a master’s degree in Landscape Design from The George Washington University and a background that spans public gardens, municipal land management, and residential design, Byron brings both creativity and technical expertise to every project.
Before joining Chiola Landscaping, Byron worked as a Gardener and Designer at the United States Botanic Garden, contributing to major exhibits, greenhouse production, and educational programs. He has also served as the Lead Horticulturist for the City of New Carrollton, Maryland, where he oversaw tree care programs, park revitalization projects, and citywide seasonal landscaping.
Byron’s design approach balances aesthetics, sustainability, and long-term plant performance. Whether crafting intimate garden renovations or developing site-wide planting plans, he focuses on thoughtful details, regional ecology, and creating outdoor spaces that feel both beautiful and purposeful.
